Cookies To-Go | DIY Gift Idea

DIY Cookies To-Go Gift Idea
This DIY project offers a charming gift idea, particularly suitable for the Advent season. It serves as a thoughtful thank-you gesture for neighbors, friends, or relatives. Additionally, this method allows for the reuse of coffee-to-go cups.
Materials Needed
- Coffee-to-go cups with lids
- Patterned paper
- Cardboard for “heat protection” templates
- Wrapping paper
- Tape and glue
- Stamps and ink
- Fine-liner (light blue)
- Printer
- Cellophane bags (optional)
Crafting the Cookies To-Go Gift
1. Clean the Coffee Cups
Thoroughly wash the coffee cups and lids with dish soap and hot water. Allow them to dry completely.
2. Decorate the Cups
Carefully open a coffee cup along its side seam. Use this opened cup as a template to cut the patterned paper. Wrap the paper around another cup and secure it with tape.
3. Print and Attach the Band
Cut wrapping paper or other suitable paper to A4 size. Print the desired lettering for the bands onto this paper.
To create the band, take apart a cardboard “heat protection” sleeve. Use this as a template to trace the outlines of the printed text. Cut out the traced shapes.
Personalize the bands by drawing small hearts with a light blue fine-liner or by stamping motifs. Finally, attach the decorated band around the coffee cup using tape.
4. Package and Distribute Cookies
Place homemade cookies into cellophane bags if desired, and then arrange them inside the decorated cups. Secure the lids and present your unique gifts.
The bands can also be handwritten or customized by choosing a different font and printing it. This concept can be adapted for other occasions; for example, a cup decorated with “Leckerli TO GO” can be filled with sweets for a child’s birthday.
