Crocheting a Star-Shaped Tablecloth

This guide provides instructions for crocheting a star-shaped tablecloth. It is a decorative piece that can be crocheted to any desired size.
Materials
- Cotton yarn (e.g., Schachemayr Micro Grande, 100g ball with 200m yardage)
- Five colors of yarn are recommended, with one ball per color.
Crochet Instructions
- Start: Chain 6 stitches and join with a slip stitch to form a ring.
- Round 1: Chain 1, single crochet 12 stitches into the ring, and join with a slip stitch. (Total: 12 single crochets)
- Round 2: Chain 1, double crochet in every second single crochet, and join with a slip stitch. (Total: 18 single crochets)
- Round 3: Chain 1. Skip 1 stitch, then crochet 2 double crochets, 1 treble crochet, 2 double crochets into the next stitch. Skip 1 stitch and make a slip stitch into the next stitch. The last slip stitch automatically closes the round.
- Round 4 (Color Change): Chain 1. Skip 1 double crochet, then work 5 double crochets. Into the next double crochet, work 2 double crochets, 1 treble crochet, 1 triple treble crochet, 1 treble crochet, 2 double crochets. Work 1 double crochet into the next double crochet. Then, decrease the next 2 double crochets together. Instead of the last decrease, make 1 single crochet and join the round with a slip stitch.
- Round 5 and Subsequent Rounds: Chain 1. Skip 1 double crochet, then work 5 double crochets up to the triple treble crochet of the point. Into the triple treble crochet, work 2 double crochets, 1 treble crochet, 1 triple treble crochet, 1 treble crochet, 2 double crochets. Work double crochets until you reach the double crochet before the decrease. Now, insert your hook into the next 3 stitches, yarn over, and pull through all 4 loops on the hook (this creates a decrease). Yarn over and pull through all loops to complete the decrease.
Sizing
The tablecloth can be crocheted to any size. To make it larger, two balls of each color will be required.
