DIY Guardian Angel Charm Crafting

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to craft small guardian angel charms. These charms are typically made with a carabiner clip at the top, allowing them to be attached to keychains, necklaces, or even car mirrors.
Materials for One Guardian Angel Charm:
- Body Bead: 1 (approx. 10-12 mm). This can be an acrylic, wooden, Fimo, felt, or metal bead.
- Head Bead: 1 (approx. 6-8 mm). Acrylic beads are commonly used.
- Headpin: 1 (approx. 45-50 mm length).
- Bead Caps: 3. One cap can be slightly smaller if the head bead is smaller than the body bead.
- Wing Bead: 1 metal or acrylic bead (approx. 15 mm wide).
- Carabiner Clip: 1 metal clip (silver or gold-colored, approx. 10 mm).
Tools:
- Small round-nose pliers that can also cut wire.
Crafting Instructions:
- Prepare the Headpin: Place a bead cap onto the headpin, ensuring the open side faces upwards. This will serve as the base for the body bead.
- Add the Body Bead: Thread the body bead onto the headpin.
- Add Second Bead Cap: Place another bead cap onto the headpin, this time with the open side facing downwards.
- Add Wing Bead: Thread the wing bead onto the headpin.
- Add Head Bead: Thread the head bead onto the headpin.
- Add Final Bead Cap: Place a final bead cap, potentially a smaller one, onto the headpin.
- Trim the Headpin: Using the pliers, trim the headpin so that approximately 1 cm of wire extends above the final bead cap.
- Create the Loop and Attach Carabiner: Use the round-nose pliers to bend the remaining headpin wire into a loop. Before closing the loop completely, attach the carabiner clip. Then, carefully use the pliers to close the loop securely, ensuring the carabiner is firmly attached.
Your guardian angel charm is now complete.
