DIY Sock Monkey Sewing

DIY Sock Monkey Sewing Guide
This guide outlines the process of creating a sock monkey using simple materials and techniques.
Materials Needed:
- 1 pair of plush socks (or other socks of your choice)
- 1 pair of googly eyes
- Sewing thread in a matching color
- A short piece of black embroidery floss or yarn for the mouth
- Scrap yarn for knitting or crocheting clothing, or fabric scraps for sewing clothes
- Stuffing (e.g., poly-fill, old tights scraps, or other filling material)
Sewing Instructions:
- Turn the socks inside out.
- Take the first sock and lay it with the heel facing upwards to form the posterior. Cut from the bottom up to the crotch, then machine sew this seam closed, leaving a small opening at the crotch. This creates the body and legs.
- Turn the body right side out, firmly stuff it with filling material, and hand-sew the small opening closed.
- From the second sock, cut out two arms, which should be shorter and thinner than the legs.
- Cut off the rounded toe of the second sock; this will be used for the mouth. Sew this piece almost completely closed, leaving a small gap. Turn it right side out, stuff it, and hand-sew the gap shut.
- From the remaining sock material, cut out two semi-circular ears and a long, narrow tail.
- Turn the tail right side out and sew it closed without stuffing.
- Sew the arms and ears closed, leaving a small opening. Turn them right side out, stuff them, and hand-sew the opening shut.
- Attach the arms, ears, mouth, and tail securely to the body.
- Glue the googly eyes in place and embroider the mouth using the black thread.
- You can now sew, knit, or crochet clothing for the finished monkey, or leave it as is.
