Egg-cellent Easter Egg Hacks

Quick Egg Hacks for Easter
As Easter approaches, eggs become a central focus for decorations and festive meals. Whether for dyeing, baking, or preparing Easter breakfast, mastering a few simple egg techniques can save time and effort. This guide provides three practical hacks for handling eggs more efficiently.
Hack 1: Separating Egg Yolk from White Using a Plastic Bottle
This method is ideal when baking and accidentally getting the yolk into the egg white.
- Obtain an empty, clean plastic bottle with a narrow opening. A standard water bottle works well.
- Gently squeeze the middle of the bottle.
- Position the bottle’s opening over the egg yolk.
- Release the pressure on the bottle. The suction will draw the yolk into the bottle, cleanly separating it from the egg white.
Hack 2: Separating Eggs with a Funnel
This technique offers another effective way to separate yolks and whites.
- Place a funnel over a glass.
- Crack an egg directly into the funnel.
- The egg white will flow through the funnel into the glass, leaving the yolk intact at the top.
Hack 3: Effortless Egg Blowing with a Balloon
For decorating Easter eggs, blowing them out can be tedious. This hack simplifies the process.
- Create small holes at both the top and bottom of an egg using a thick needle.
- Inflate a balloon, then pinch the opening to retain the air.
- Hold the egg with one end over a glass.
- Place the balloon’s opening against the other end of the egg and release the balloon. The air pressure from the balloon will efficiently blow out the egg’s contents into the glass.
Note: The contents of blown-out eggs (yolk and white) can be saved and used for other dishes like omelets or Kaiserschmarrn.
