Little Fimo Chicks - The Perfect Easter Surprise

Creating Little Chicks with Fimo
Fimo modeling clay offers a simple way to craft small chicks, ideal as charming additions to Easter gifts or as standalone decorative items.
Required Materials
- Fimo modeling clay in orange, red, white, black, and yellow.
- A glass plate.
- A small knife.
- Optional: Small tools for detail work, such as those used in nail care.
Step-by-Step Guide to Making Fimo Chicks
- Prepare the Clay: Soften the Fimo of each required color by kneading it thoroughly.
- Form the Body: Shape the main body of the chick from orange Fimo.
- Add the Head and Tail: Create the chick’s head and a small tail from additional pieces of orange Fimo and attach them to the body.
- Create the Wings: Form two small wings from orange Fimo and press them onto the sides of the body.
- Add Details (Feet and Comb): Use red Fimo to create the chick’s small comb and feet. Attach these to the appropriate parts of the body.
- Form the Beak: Craft tiny beaks from yellow Fimo and press them into the head.
- Make the Eyes: Create the eyes using small pieces of white and black Fimo, assembling them to form pupils.
- Bake the Chicks: Once the chicks are fully modeled, they need to be hardened. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the Fimo packaging for baking temperatures and times.
Finishing Touches
After the Fimo chicks have been baked and cooled, they can be enhanced with a clear varnish. This not only adds a glossy finish but also increases their durability.
