Weekly Recipe Planner: Create a Meal Plan for a Week

A weekly recipe planner can help organize your meals and grocery shopping, eliminating the daily question of what to cook and ensuring you have the necessary ingredients on hand.
Effortless and Individual Meal Planning
To avoid relying on leftovers, a weekly meal plan outlines your entire week’s meals. This allows for bulk ingredient purchasing, leading to cost savings by minimizing impulse buys and ensuring only needed items are acquired. This approach benefits both your budget and your health.
An online weekly planner enables the planning of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for the entire family. You can create and reuse multiple meal plans. Personalize plans by typing dish names into designated fields, which then display recipe suggestions from which to choose.
Adjusting Portion Sizes
To modify the portion size of a recipe, click the pencil icon next to the dish name. This also allows for rescheduling meals to different times or days.
Adding Recipes to the Weekly Planner
When a desired recipe is found, click the “+ Plan” button below the image to add it to an existing or new weekly plan.
Access the weekly planner through the user menu by clicking your profile picture in the top right corner and selecting “Wochenplaner.” Alternatively, navigate directly via the website.
All Ingredients at a Glance
Each weekly plan generates a shopping list based on selected recipes. Identical ingredients are consolidated to show total quantities needed. Ingredients are categorized (e.g., vegetables, meat, fish, spices) for efficient supermarket navigation. You can also view ingredients by day for optimal preparation timing.
Editing the Shopping List
Items already in stock, such as salt, pepper, oil, or onions, can be removed by clicking on them. Manual additions for other necessary items, like toiletries, can also be made to the shopping list for a comprehensive overview.
If a recipe is not available or you wish to add a personal favorite, create placeholders in the planner and add your own dishes later, manually including their ingredients in the shopping list.
Transferring Ingredients to the Bring! App
Users of the Bring! app can transfer ingredients directly to their existing lists via the “Add to Shopping List” button.
Printable Weekly Planner
Completed weekly plans can be printed or saved as PDF files using the “PDF” button. PDFs are particularly useful for mobile shopping lists and for sharing plans with others. Alternatively, the weekly planner can be accessed directly through a mobile browser on the website. Printed plans are ideal for display, informing everyone about the week’s meals.
Ordering or Delivering Ingredients
For convenience, ingredients can be ordered for delivery or pickup. Once the shopping list is complete, click the designated button to order from a grocery service. The shopping cart can be edited before finalizing the order.
Starting to Cook on Time
After creating your weekly plan and gathering ingredients, set reminders for meal preparation. The planner can send email or push notifications, providing a direct link to the recipe when it’s time to start cooking.
